![]() ![]() This may seem like a really trivial problem, but it's causing me a lot of issues knowing which incoming texts I need to pay attention to immediately, and which I can ignore until later. Now I can't even find the directory that the pre-loaded sounds live in! It used to be so easy: anything in your Music or Ringtones directory could be specified as a Notification sound (or Alert sound, I think they used to be called). I mean actually uploading a new sound to the phone and making it available for notifications, just like you can do with ring tones and alarm sounds. Now, I don't mean picking the sound I like from their list of pre-loaded sounds, like every help guide Google can find assumes I mean. You can also adjust other notification settings from this page. Turn the notification settings on or off by tapping the switch next to the different features. Next, tap the name of the app you'd like to customize. Tap the drop-down menu at the top, and then tap All. ![]() In general the experience has been a good one, but there is one aspect of the phone that I used to be able to customise on previous versions, but not on this one for some reason: notification sounds. From Settings, tap Notifications, and then tap More under Recently sent. ![]() I've been using Samsung Galaxy products for well over a decade now, and recently (ish) upgraded to the Galaxy S9. ![]()
